The general scientific objectives that will be followed within the project consider the achievement of new materials, micro and nanotechnologies – with applications of electro acoustic energy in material engineering, the aim being as follows:

  • Development of new materials, as well as the exploitation of the existent  potential at  known materials

  • Development of new materials and technologies to achieve micro and nanostructures, integrated Microsystems.

  • Achievement of fabrication technologies, products, systems, instruments and high accuracy apparatus.

The ULTRATECH project proposes the concentration of competencies and resources, in a virtual centre in the field of science and technology of electro acoustic energy applications in material engineering, to increase the relevance and the impact of research – development activities and simulation of innovation with a view to harmonise with the UE priorities and the international actual preoccupations in the field of material engineering.

The general and specific objectives of the project frame in the objectives of the CEEX programme on the development of capacity in the scientific and technological field of material engineering, assurance of some internal scientific  competence and technological high level expertise, as well as  advanced technologies to support and increase competitiveness in the development of economy and society based on knowledge, objectives in the perfect correlation with the structure of the 7th RDI Frame Programme of the EU.

The project focussing on a wide range of engineering material  - a multifunctional category of materials with applicability in a variety of micro and nanosystems types ( mechanic, electronic, optoelectronic and biologic) asked for a pluridisciplinary approach  to achieve (material engineering,  physics,  chemistry), characterisation, utilisation (engineering, biology) and phenomenological modelling (engineering, mathematics).
