  • complex model, original of the FSW welding process in thermal coupled field, mechanic and structural

  • FSW high performance welding installation

  • on line monitoring and control system of the FSW process

  • specific method for the non-destructive examination of the FSW weld by the ultrasounds array  investigation system

  • technological data base with programme  for the selection of welding parameters

  • innovative and ecologic  technologies for FSW of advanced materials /combinations of advanced materials

  • new method  to join advanced materials by hybrid welding (FSW coupled with laser)

  • new driving /moving system of the processing tool, adaptable  for robot welding

  • new method  to modify superficial properties of materials, respectively recondition the superficial defects

  • dimensioning methodology (specific designing guide) of FSW welded  joints/structures adapted to the European codes

  • prediction method for the residual lifetime of complex structures made by FSW

  • competence virtual centre  in the field of joining advanced materials

  • know-how necessary to implement into the industry the FSW process in working some advanced materials, respectively  some  complex structures for prioritary  technological fields.
