The projectís aim is to develop the theoretical and practical knowledge in developing the constructive systems and technologies for high performing steels means for buildings placed in seismic risk zones. Also, main ISIMís contribution is containing the developing and performing the welding technologies for probes samples that were testing at ISIM and at UPT-CEMSIG, material testing and obtaining the main mechanics properties of steels who was used in researches.     

In spite of the fact that this instrument is dedicated to a civil application (buildings), it can be adapted for other sector like the power plants and chemical and petrochemical plants.

The research has a complex and a excellency character because the research performing needs specialist coming from building design, welding technologies, material testing, microscope analysis, and failure analysis and so on, all of them having high professional skills.

The project will be performed into the frame of a partnership between UPT-CEMSIG Timisoara, who is the Project Manager an is specialized in designing concepts   and ISIM Timisoara who is specialized in welding technologies, material testing, microscope analysis and non-destructive testing, Also, ACAD Ė CCFTA Timisoara is specialized in finite element analysis, and analytical modelling of loading in seismic conditions. 

 

Results of project in progress (ISIMís contribution):

  • Different experiment for establish the optimum welding technology; Microscope analysis of specimens failure; Establish the mechanical properties and interpretation of mechanical testing results loading in seismic regime.
