Activity 2.1.

Definition of specific objectives and applications

Activity of the Partner ISIM Timisoara:

Industrial research for the definition of specific objectives and applications in the frame of the project.

Report detailing the designed material, market and applications.

Activity 2.2.

Distribution of raw material and the cutting tools.

Activity of the Partner ISIM Timisoara:

Industrial research in order to select the base materials and the tools for the approached processes.

Activity 2.3.

Definition of experimental equipment

Activity of the Partner ISIM Timisoara:

Industrial research for the elaboration of the design specification of the experimental model of a multi-functional machine for friction processing, for the processes approached in the project J-FAST. Based on the design specification, the partner P5 elaborates the execution documentation, and then executes the friction processing machine. The partner P4 contributes with some components.

Report detailing the designed systems to undertake the research activities.

Activity 2.4.

Definition of former tests for the FSW technique

Activity of the Partner ISIM Timisoara:

Industrial research for the preparation of the FSW technique used in previous technology tests, for experiments according to the objectives of the Project J-FAST.

Report containing the experience acquired in the implementation of the developed systems (referring to the FSW technique of ISIM).

Activity 2.5.

Determination of an optimized sequence of machining operations on the parts.

Activity of the Partner ISIM Timisoara:

Experimental development for the determination of an optimized sequence of the operations of using the FSW technology, in order to obtain appropriate results on parts made of materials approached in the project

Report on the best machining sequence for each combination of material / application (referring to FSW processing works done by ISIM).

Activity 2.6.

Experiments on the FSW process for joining overlapped dissimilar sheets

Activity of the Partner ISIM Timisoara:

Experimental development regarding the utilization of the FSW process for joining dissimilar overlapped sheets, made of the material types approached in the project J-FAST.

Report on the experiments for the FSW process, with technical evaluation.

Additional processes and verification for functionality. Demonstrator and final tests.

Deliverable D2: Report regarding the properties of the developed components and the demonstrator.

Activity 3.1.

Properties of the unions executed by the FSW technique.

Activity of the Partner ISIM Timisoara:

Experimental development with the aim to determine the properties specified for certain applications, of the joints executed by the FSW technique of ISIM on materials approached in this project.

Experimental development for the execution of functional layers with the FSW technique of ISIM.

Report on the properties of the developed components for the different pair of materials (by the FSW and FSSW processes, at ISIM).

Report on the functional layers executed with the FSW technique.

Activity 3.2.

Demonstrator 2: Workshop organized by ISIM.

Activity of the Partner ISIM Timisoara:

Dissemination. Workshop. Demonstrator.

In the frame of a workshop organized by ISIM, the experimental model of multi-functional machine for friction processing, designed and executed in the frame of the project J-FAST, will be started up to operation and presented as a demonstrator, with the aim of dissemination of the project results. The experiments and examination results of the joints will also be presented.
